Nationwide implements Level Four ATM development tools

Nationwide, the UK's largest building society, has implemented the ATM Channel Development Suite from Level Four Software to develop, test and rapidly deploy new content across its network of cash machines and to assist with migration to the forthcoming EMV standard.

The Level Four software will be used to prototype and test new products and implement downloads without disruption to service. The system can be used to simulate how any machine in the Nationwide network will interact with the Base24 host system in every possible transaction scenario.

Nationwide says its aim is to provide a faster, efficient service so that customers spend less time in queues and in branches.

With this in mind, Level Four's Channel development Suite will also be used to support new types of ATM devices that the society is delivering in the near future, including an automated cash deposit service that will enable customers to deposit any combination of paper cash at a secure, dedicated machine. The machine will intelligently sort, quantify, scan and automatically credit the user's account with the value of the cash.
