South Korean Woori Securities, a subsidiary of Woori Bank, has launched a mobile brokerage service powered by 724 Solutions' financial services platform.

The new system, which is connected to Woori's mobile banking service, offers customers a range of mobile brokerage solutions including quotes, stock trades, account updates, watch lists and market news.

"Since working with 724 Solutions to deploy mobile banking in 2001, we have seen growth in demand of financial mobile services," says Kim Tae Ho, head of cyber marketing team, at Woori Securities. "724 Solutions’ exceptional technology and partnership with Koreadotcom to deliver customised solutions gives them unique value in the Korean market."

According to the Korean Ministry of Information and Communications, South Korea has over 29 million mobile phone users - representing 63 percent of the population - one of the highest adoption rates in the world.
