Wachovia has confirmed its intention to standardise on Automated Financial Systems (AFS) as its primary commercial lending platform provider.
In a project billed as one of the largest conversion efforts in the financial services industry, Wachovia will consolidate its entire commercial portfolio - including First Union customer accounts - onto the AFS Level III system. The AFS software already supports more than half of the combined bank's customers.
The project is expected to span nine months.
