Alltel Information Services has won certification from Spectrum, the bank-owned payment systems company that routes electronic bills and payments between billers and consumers, for its e-billing services.
Under the agreement, Alltel will establish and maintain a direct interface with the Spectrum network for financial institution participants, register billers, gather and format billing information from billers and transmit the information to the Spectrum network.
Alltel is also in the process of certifying its Rhapsody Bill (BSP - bill service provider) product with Spectrum's system.
A total of 22 financial institutions now belong to the Spectrum network or have signed letters of intent to participate in the network.
