Reuters reports that the Web site of the Egyptian central bank has been defaced by a team of Brazilian hackers.

The cyber attack was launched on Friday morning, Ayman el-Sayed, the central bank's Webmaster, told Reuters on Monday.

"We are now implementing security measures to avoid this happening in the future," he said.

The Web site, which usually features the Egyptian flag and a photograph of the bank, now displays jeering messages in Portuguese and links to several Brazilian Internet addresses.
