Can banks stay ahead of the fraud game?

Elliot Castro, independent consultant and former credit card fraudster, was speaking alongside 192 Business Services at a pre-paid card summit in London this week. Finextra spoke to him afterwards to get his views on recent industry developments to combat fraud.

His exploits, based largely on social engineering techniques rather than online activities, are detailed in the book he co-authored last year. One of the most important things he thinks banks need to do to help combat fraud is educate customers more about protecting personal details.
