The clean screen dream

The clean screen dream

Source: Blue Prism

Blue Prism explores the use of screen scraping techniques to solve data migration problems in enterprise systems upgrades.

The high risk involved in major systems migrations normally leads to a phased approach which creates additional problems managing processes that span two sets of systems during the transition period. Often the only way of managing the extra workload created is to employ more temporary staff.

This paper explains how recent advances in technology have offered the chance to use non-invasive 'screen scraping' techniques to help overcome the problems of data conversion and migration in a complex systems environment.

Such tactical techniques are now being used by enterprises to address temporary workarounds not only in the fragmented processes highlighted during the transitional period, but also in the technical migration process itself.
