Web in cars - web banking in cars?

Watching the answer of Mercedes to BMW's iDrive, I think the dashboard screen makes a perfect web-browsing interface.

And if it is a simple web browser built-in, why not make an online banking clone for this "channel" as well? The challenge is to make use of the dial-like navigation device and how to input numbers with it.

I wonder what can be the use-cases for "car-banking", if you have any idea, comment me please.

Frankly, I can't see any. Why use an in-car display when you can just pull over and pull out your mobile? Mind you, there could be an integration play with contactless payments. Nonetheless, I'd rather see the BMWs of this world investing their R&D spend in developing cleaner, greener and more fuel-eficient vehicles vehicles. All the same, I suppose YouTube might come in handy when you're queuing for your petrol in ten year's time.

I think the idea is your mobile is linked to your car these days - via Bluetooth so there's no pulling over to fish out the handset.

I went for a spin in the BMW in question at a press bash and it does have a shocking amount of electronics on-board. If you're going to have satnav then you might as well link it to Google maps and so on. I'm not sure I'd want to do my banking from the car - but then again - what else are you going to do while you wait in a traffic jam with the handbrake on? Probably the place for the web browser is the back seats - the sort of people who spend this on cars usually have a driver too.
