We’ve heard before that women are getting paid less than men for various reasons – they give up work for children, discrimination and so on. Now, research from the University of Essex says that women are earning less than men because they spend more time doing housework. Apparently women in couples spend up to eight hours a week longer on housework than their partners and a lot of it is done late in the day when they could be doing overtime in the office like the men are doing. So ladies, if you want to close that gender pay gap, leave the cleaning until the weekend!
