First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, today announced that Executive Vice President Ed Labry has been named by the board as the company's Vice Chairman. In this new role, Labry will be the senior-most advisor to the chief executive officer, leading the company's engagement with its premier customers and driving new enterprise client engagement.

"Ed Labry has done more to help build First Data than any other person I know," said Chief Executive Officer Frank Bisignano. "It gives us great pleasure to name Ed to this new role, where he will continue to engage with our strategic customers and with our topmost prospects to help us drive new sources of top-line revenue."

Having served as interim CEO since Jan. 28, Labry was previously president of First Data North America, a market that grew to contribute more than 85 percent of the company's consolidated revenue under his leadership from 2010 through 2012. First Data's U.S. operations deliver products and services to financial institutions and bank alliance partners, merchants and commercial customers, providing virtually all services in the payment continuum, from payment card issuing to acquiring transactions at the point of sale for processing and settlement. Previously Labry served as president of the company's Retail and Alliance Services division.

"In my new role, I am excited to bring my company knowledge and skill set to complement those of our new CEO, who is an extraordinary relationship, operational and technology leader," said Labry. "I look forward to introducing new brands to First Data as we continue to expand our customer relationships in the United States and around the world. We now have a great team in place to jump start this enterprise."
