Electronic trading vendor Nyfix has upgraded its handheld wireless point of sale (POS) system MobileBroker and is rolling the application out to traders on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
The vendor says its MobileBroker handheld is now deployed on improved hardware, has a colour screen and increased battery life.
The application connects to the NYSE Cap-DI service and provides real-time order management, instant messaging and market data.
MobileBroker is part of the FloorLook and FloorReport exchange booth system that connects to the upstairs trading desks.
Nyfix says it is deploying the application to users on the floor and will also update more than 200 old devices currently used by brokers.
