The site disappeared from the Web this morning after hackers launched a distributed denial of services attack, the second to hit the bank in as nany months.

The assault appears to have halted just the bank's main corporate site in Sweden, leaving other Baltic Web addresses untouched.

Speaking to Reuters, a Swedbank spokesman struck a remarkably sanguine tone. "It is not the first time and it will probably not be the last one,” he told the newsire, adding that he had no information as to when normal services would be resumed.
