European payments industry to convene in Vienna for EBAday 2009

Registration is now open for EBAday 2009, the leading annual European payments forum held by the Euro Banking Association and Finextra Research. This year the two-day event is in Vienna from 30 June to 1 July, and is supported by lead sponsors Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, RZB, and Logica.

Now in its fourth year, EBAday 2009 will look at new challenges for the transaction business in a risk-averse economic climate, and the evolution of Sepa. As the eurozone expands, the programme will also look at the future of payments in an increasingly integrated Europe, with cross-border opportunities bringing markets together.

Adopting the theme, 'Taking a fresh approach to payments and risk management', the two-day event at the Vienna Hofburg Congress Center will again play host to the corporate community with a series of special interest sessions dedicated to the ongoing impact of Sepa on corporates and opportunities for corporate innovation in payments.

The top-level conference and seminar programme at EBAday is complemented by an exhibition showcasing the complete spectrum of payment processing services from leading banks, ACHs, technology vendors, and consultancies. With three months to go before EBAday 2009 opens its doors for business, the exhibition floor is filling fast despite the current economic climate. This reflects the growing success of the event in attracting a high quality delegate audience, and the increasing importance of transaction banking to financial groups' balance sheets.
