Thomson Reuters, the world's leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced that Cleardocs, its online legal document generation business, will now be directly available through Iress' Xplan financial planning solution for wealth management professionals.

XPLAN customers will now have the ability to immediately access Cleardocs cloud-based legal documents through a new 'custom-built' interface integrated into XPLAN. This will enable the seamless creation and storage of legal documents such as those relating to self-managed super funds (SMSFs) and trusts. Use of a common platform will reduce time by eliminating data entry, while assisting with ever-increasing compliance needs.

"Since 2002, Cleardocs has facilitated the creation of over one million legal documents online; providing accountants, financial planners and lawyers with pay per use legal document creation and resources. The interface integration with XPLAN reinforces our philosophy to provide users with a clear and easy to use platform," said Lisa Galbraith, general manager, Cleardocs.

"With 15 per cent of accountants authorised to provide investment advice1 and a growing proportion of accountants seeing financial planning as part of their practice's role, integrations such as these become even more relevant. We're proud to have established the interface integration with XPLAN as it improves our customers' user experience."

IRESS executive product manager for wealth management, Aaron Knowles, said: "Interface integrations like this one make perfect sense, enabling data leverage and a time saving to help planners and advisers work more efficiently. This initiative illustrates how the integration of common platforms can save valuable time for financial planning and advisory professionals."

Major benefits of the integration include:

• Improved document accuracy and compliance;
• Time saving through data leverage, pre-population - minimising data entry and duplication
• A streamlined process for the ordering and establishment of legal documents
