Bats Chi-X Europe executive committee members named

Bats Global Markets today announced executive committee appointments for Bats Chi-X Europe, the new entity that will emerge as a result of Bats' acquisition of Chi-X Europe.

In addition to Chief Executive Officer Mark Hemsley, the BATS Chi-X Europe executive committee will include Paul O'Donnell, chief operating officer; Michael Beaver, chief financial officer; Jerry Avenell and Alex Dalley, co-heads of sales; Graham Dick, head of index and derivatives products; Adam Eades, head of legal and regulatory affairs; and Michael Newell, head of business development.

All members of the executive committee will report to Mr. Hemsley.

Mr. Hemsley said: "These individuals have been an instrumental part of both organisations' success in Europe and I believe this is the ideal team to take us forward and ensure that BATS Chi-X Europe is positioned to capitalise on the tremendous opportunities for growth in today's ever changing marketplace."

Immediately following the close of the Chi-X Europe transaction on 30 November, Mr. Hemsley, chief executive officer of BATS Europe, assumed the role of chief executive officer for the combined Chi-X Europe and BATS Europe businesses which will be known as BATS Chi-X Europe.
Planning for the migration of the Chi-X Europe trading platform to BATS Europe technology is currently underway and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2012. A technology migration timetable and details will be announced before the end of the year.
