In his previous role, he served as the Head of Risk for Global Payments at Barclays PLC, where he was responsible for defining and implementing the risk management framework for Barclays Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, and France. Additionally, Mr. Buechner has held broad leadership positions within Barclays overseeing implementing payment risk strategies at Barclays' Global Payment Operations Processing, and managing the payments principal risk remit across the Global Retail Bank, including Western Europe & Emerging Markets, as well as the Corporate Investment Banking & Wealth Management.

In his current role, Mr. Buechner oversees GlobalCollect's overall risk and credit governance, including assessing risk profiles and business activities associated with offering a diverse product portfolio and servicing a broad range of clients. In addition, he holds responsibility for managing global compliance schemes, for example PCI DSS, and GlobalCollect's other regulatory obligations.
