Atrium Network, provider of smarter connectivity solutions for the financial community, today announced it has opened a new point of presence (POP) at Equinix's ZH4 International Business Exchange (IBX) data centre in Zurich.

Atrium Network's POPs in Equinix facilities in Geneva and now Zurich, ensure customers benefit from low latency access to both Swiss and non-Swiss markets.

Using Atrium Network's fast connectivity path between Equinix's Frankfurt FR2 and Zurich ZH4 IBX data centres, non-Zurich-based Atrium Network participants can now easily access the Zurich market, allowing Frankfurt-based clients to use Atrium Network's Zurich to Frankfurt low latency route to take advantage of statistical arbitrage opportunities. The decision to increase its Zurich connectivity footprint allows Atrium Network to continue to meet the demands of customers looking to access venues such as SIX Stock Exchange and SCOACH in addition to other venues and markets across Europe and the Americas.

Emmanuel Carjat, Chief Executive Officer of Atrium Network said, "Anticipating customer demand and responding to customer demand remains a key part of our global strategy. In January we announced connectivity to SIX Stock Exchange and quickly witnessed Zurich-based clients accessing the venue and taking advantage of liquidity. Our growing footprint within the Swiss Equinix community ensures we are well-positioned to scale-up to the ever-increasing connectivity demands and geographical reach requirements of the international trading community."

Robin Manicom, Director Financial Services, EMEA, of Equinix said, "Atrium Network's decision to join our Zurich data centre provides greater liquidity for all our clients based in the ZH4 facility and gives a further choice of connectivity providers to local markets and markets across Europe and the Americas. We're pleased to see Atrium Network extend its Equinix presence once more and look forward to our ongoing relationship."
