Panopticon Software, the leading provider of visual data analysis software for real-time, CEP and time series data, today announced that it has expanded its executive staff with two strategic hires.

Dan Weisberg, who most recently directed Sybase's channel partner programs for its largest North American region, will now lead Panopticon's partner and strategic alliance development effort in the Americas. Michael Le Lion, who joins Panopticon from Bishopsgate Financial, is handling direct sales activities with a major focus on key financial services accounts in the UK and Europe.

Michael Le Lion is Panopticon's new SVP of International Sales and is focusing his efforts on sales to the financial services community, clients with real time streaming requirements and OEM partners for Panopticon technology. He has over 20 years of experience in corporate sales and joins Panopticon after serving as Head of Sales and Partnerships for Bishopsgate Financial, a Value Added Reseller (VAR) for capital markets clients, including RBS, Lloyds, Nomura, London Stock Exchange, Barclays Capital, and Deutsche Bank. Prior to Bishopsgate, Michael held senior sales positions at Platinum Technology, Fujitsu-ICL Retail, Verity, Comshare, and Datamonitor/Ovum where he actively targeted the financial services industry.

Dan Weisberg is Panopticon's new VP for Business Development for North America, focused on building crucial VAR, Systems Integrator, and OEM alliances. Before joining Panopticon, Dan spent eleven years at Sybase as a Business Development, Channels, and Partner Alliance Executive. While there, he established and managed Sybase's strategic relationships with key partners, including IBM, MicroStrategy and a wide array of Business Intelligence-focused systems integrators and VARs. Before his tenure at Sybase, Dan was the principal of Thoughtful Solutions, a successful application development firm whose clients included Northern Trust Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and Searle Pharmaceutical. He also worked as a sales engineer and architect for Information Builders Inc. and MVC Corporation. Dan earned an MBA with Distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where he was awarded the Chevron Fellowship in Information Systems. He also holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.

Willem De Geer, Panopticon's Managing Director, said, "We have recently seen a huge upsurge of interest in our data visualization tools for real-time streams and CEP engines, particularly in capital markets. We needed to expand our team to better service and support our key customers, which include many of the major banks and hedge funds in the US and the UK, as well as help us expand and strengthen our partner network. Dan and Michael bring a great deal of highly relevant experience to the company as well as an enthusiastic attitude about our products that's based on their in depth knowledge of customer requirements. We're happy to have professionals with their backgrounds and skills join us."
