Bitcoin Tipper, a service, that lets users send the virtual currency to friends through Twitter, has launched.
To sign up, users follow and tweet the @bitcointipper account. The service will then create an account and direct message the person with their bitcoin address where they can deposit currency.
From there, users can send the virtual currency to anyone with a Twitter account by messaging them and @bitcointipper with the amount they want to give.
Among the first to try out the service was the blogger behind the bitcointrader site, @GoWestBTC:
@bitcointipper @barackobama pay 0.2 BTC Welcome to Bitcoin, Mr. President!- GoWest (@GoWestBTC) March 15, 2013
@bitcointipper @barackobama pay 0.2 BTC Welcome to Bitcoin, Mr. President!
Although, as some posters on the bitcointalk message board have noted, whether the President is legally allowed to accept the donation is unclear.
