MasterCard has today announced that ten UK payment service providers have committed to PayPassTM Online by MasterCard, part of PayPass Wallet Services, dramatically increasing the number of UK merchants able to accept wallet payments online and on mobile.

Leading UK payment service providers (CQR, CreditCall, DataCash, MoPowered, Optimal Payments, Pensio, Sage Pay, SecureTrading, The Logic Group, and WorldPay) have agreed to integrate with the scheme, which enables more online and multi-channel retailers to have the tools available in order to capitalise on the growing online and mobile commerce market. This market is predicted to make up approximately 45% of UK retailers' total revenue by 2014[1] .

Marion King, President UK & Ireland said "With an ever increasing number of transactions being made online, merchants need to cater to changing consumer lifestyles and expectations. They need to offer shoppers peace of mind that their personal details are safe, offer a wider choice of payment options and quicker transaction times, which can ultimately translate into increased customer satisfaction and an uplift in sales. With PayPass Wallet Services we are again demonstrating our commitment to using our technology and expertise to offer these benefits to consumers, issuers, and merchants whilst offering the state-of -the-art security protection of the MasterCard payment system."

PayPass Wallet Services by MasterCard allows merchants to accept electronic payments across multiple channels, whether the purchase is made online using a computer, tablet or smartphone. By integrating PayPass Online into eCommerce sites, merchants can speed up the checkout process, helping to reduce the number of abandoned shopping carts, and shoppers can easily access all their payment and shipping information. These services enable a consistent shopping experience no matter where or how consumers shop, as well as a suite of digital wallet services, and developer tools to make it easier to connect other wallets into the PayPass Online acceptance network.
