With the addition of this payment service, ila card users have a new convenient way to make secure payments while they are on the go.

Samsung Wallet is an effortless payment option using compatible Samsung devices. ila Bank’s tie-up with Samsung allows customers to complete contactless payments at retail outlets locally and around the world, whether they are online, on-site, or while they make in-store purchases. All the ila Bank customers can make payments seamlessly with just a tap of their Samsung phone or smartwatch.

Mohamed Al Qassab, Head of Digital Experience at ila Bank, commented, “By enabling payments through Samsung Wallet, ila Bank has once again underlined its promise of keeping the customer at the forefront of all its endeavors. This partnership with Samsung Wallet empowers customers to make payments the smart way, even if they have forgotten to carry cash or cards and is especially handy when traveling abroad. We will continue to collaborate with leading technology providers to offer customers added convenience and further simplify their banking experience.”

Samsung Wallet uses several unique security methods, like tokenization, to secure customer’s personal and financial information. Tokenization replaces a customer’s sensitive payment information with a device-specific ‘Token,’ which acts as a surrogate value. In mobile payments, Tokens are used to protect the customer’s payment information and reduce the security risks inherent to plastic cards. Furthermore, Samsung Knox constantly monitors and protects the customer’s phone from malware and other threats.

Fadi Abu Shamat, Head of Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, said, ”We are delighted to partner with ila Bank to offer our customers in Bahrain a secure and convenient way to pay with their Samsung devices. Samsung Wallet is not only easy to use, but also protects customer's personal and financial information with advanced security features through Samsung Knox, which monitors and prevents any unauthorized access or tampering on the device giving consumers the peace of mind. With Samsung Wallet, customers can enjoy peace of mind while shopping online or in-store, locally or abroad. This collaboration with ila Bank reflects our commitment to innovation and customer-centricity, as we aim to create a brighter digital future for everyone."

The new collaboration between ila Bank and Samsung Wallet is just one of the many developments introduced for the benefit of customers. With over 85 app releases to date, including app enhancements and new products and services introduced regularly, and an award-winning user interface, ila gives consumer banking a whole new meaning, one that matches up to and complements today’s ever-evolving lifestyles.

ila Bank customers now have the option to add their debit, credit, or prepaid cards, enabling them to utilize the effortless Samsung Wallet payment service. For further information about the service, customers can contact the ila Bank contact center on 24/7 basis.
