Amalgamated Bank of Chicago renews First Data card services contract

Amalgamated Bank of Chicago, which has been a First Data (NYSE:FDC) client since 1987, has signed a renewal agreement with the electronic commerce and payments leader.

First Data will continue to provide comprehensive card processing services, including statement production and mailing and plastics personalization, for Amalgamated. In addition, the bank has renewed its merchant processing agreement with First Data.

"At Amalgamated Bank, we believe that our focus on providing quality service and a low-interest rate credit card to our customers is enhanced by continuing to partner with First Data for our technology and processing needs," said Robert Wrobel, president and chief executive officer of Amalgamated Bank of Chicago.

Financial terms of the long-term renewal were not disclosed.
