Aegis Software announces that New York-based InTrade, LLC (Member: NYSE, AMEX, NASD) has licensed their AthenaTrader order execution system, as well as Aegis' AthenaGateway Server, for high speed, direct market access to exchanges and ECNs.

A portfolio trading platform for equities, options and futures, AthenaTrader provides a programming interface in which traders can enter customized rules and cell formulas to create their own trading strategies, as well as to choose from canned algorithms that are included in the product.

Extensive basket/wave facilities are also provided in support of program trading. The system's graphic user interface works closely with the strategy program to offer complete control over order grouping, sorting, filtering, graphing, and reporting. Real-time positions, P&L, allocations and risk management by portfolio and sector can also be monitored by the strategy program. All order management functions are performed on a real-time basis to provide extensive calculations, charting and market data information, such as Level I and Level II pricing.

InTrade uses AthenaTrader and AthenaGateway Server to route upwards of 4 million shares per day to NYSE, ISLD and ArcaEx. InTrade has been using AthenaTrader for over six months, and plans to offer the software to their own clients on an agency brokerage basis.

"We initially chose AthenaTrader because of the superior capabilities afforded by its Java-based design, and have steadily scaled up our trading as it has proven reliable and well supported." said Mark Frank, Managing Member of InTrade, LLC. "There are many systems that offer FIX connectivity, but this system was one of the few that also offered us connectivity to the NYSE in their native CMS protocol."

"InTrade has provided great insight into the real-world needs of high-volume, quantitative traders" said Norm Friedman, a vice president at Aegis Software. "As a result, AthenaTrader is a strongly competitive product with performance benchmarks of several hundred messages a second on relatively modest hardware while, at the same time, offering a good meld of programmatic and user-driven capabilities."
