Alfred McAlpine, the support services group, today confirmed that it has been awarded a contract in excess of £80m by the Bank of Ireland to provide facilities management services across the Bank's property portfolio in the Republic of Ireland.

The contract, which will run for an initial seven year period, is the largest FM contract in Ireland. Under it, Alfred McAlpine will provide a total facilities management service covering the Bank's 350 properties across Ireland, including some major landmark buildings in Dublin. It represents the first outsourcing of facilities management services by the Bank.

Ian Grice, chief executive of Alfred McAlpine said: "This contract confirms Alfred McAlpine's status as a leading provider of facilities management services to the financial sector in the UK and Ireland, where we already work with Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS), National Australia Bank, Nationwide and a leading investment bank based in the City of London, with which we have recently extended our £9m per year contract for a further 5 years. It also recognises the skill and service commitment that we bring to the provision of facilities management services. We very much look forward to developing our relationship with the Bank."
