Gravitas Technology, Inc., a leading IT services firm specializing in the alternative investment community, today announced the expansion of its custom software development services offering with the addition of Mark Seaman, a 24 year veteran of the financial services industry, as a Principal and Director.

In this capacity Mr. Seaman will lead the company's growth strategy in this area and will be responsible for the management and oversight of all custom software and application integration solutions provided to Gravitas clients. It is expected these client directed projects will encompass all facets of a fund’s operational lifecycle, inclusive of trading support, risk management, fund accounting and investor services. In addition, Mr. Seaman will be involved, in conjunction with the Gravitas management team, in providing high end business consulting services with respect to software platform integration and best business practices for front, middle and back office operational workflow.

"Our experience in data aggregation, integration, and warehousing gives business users command over essential information, with custom views of data and real-time reporting," says Jayesh Punater, CEO and Founder of Gravitas Technology. "With Mark's background and expertise we believe his is a natural fit to the Gravitas senior management team and will be a great asset to us as well as to our customers."

In expanding its software development operation, Gravitas Technology will combine substantial "best practices" knowledge of capital markets, hedge funds, fund-of-funds, and private equity operational workflow with expertise in software architecture/deployment and third-party product integration. This myriad of talents will allow Gravitas to provide immediate value to the fund manager via both the development of custom applications for mission critical business functions, including, but not limited to portfolio management, trade capture, prime broker reconciliation, data warehousing, P&L analysis, and reporting, as well as the installation and integration of various third-party applications and systems, including order management/trade capture, portfolio management and accounting, market data, and risk.

When asked how he saw this expansion of the Gravitas product suite benefiting the fund manager, Mr. Seaman responded. "The alternative investment industry has always been at the forefront with respect to leveraging technology for improving operational efficiencies. By combining Gravitas’ IT integration, software development and business process improvement skill sets, I believe we will be able to provide the fund manger with a full suite of integrated IT services geared toward improving the daily operational efficiency of their funds. I look forward to once again being in a position where I can help funds achieve their business efficiency goals and ultimately help them mitigate much of the operational business risk that is of constant paramount concern to investors. With the ever increasing informational needs of regulatory oversight coupled with investor demands, funds must continually look for ways to improve their information access and manipulation capabilities. I expect the next year to be very exciting for our industry and I look for Gravitas to continue to place itself at the forefront of innovation."

Prior to joining Gravitas Technology, Mr. Seaman was a Partner, and past Chief Information Officer of Spectrum Global Fund Administration, one of the fastest growing fund administration and operational outsourcing firms servicing sophisticated multi-strategy hedge funds and fund-of-funds. In this capacity, he was instrumental in the formation of the VCOO fund administration services offering and the creation of the required technology platform. .

Before Spectrum, Mr. Seaman served as Vice President for SS&C Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions to the hedge fund community. His duties included business unit operations, product development, and product strategy for the investment advisor, hedge fund and private wealth management markets. He was also a past Principal of Shepro Braun where he oversaw product development for such industry recognized applications as Total Return and Antares.
