Effective immediately, Chief Operating Officer Ron Rittenmeyer will become part of EDS' Office of the Chairman, led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Jordan and including President Jeff Heller.

Rittenmeyer will assume responsibility for all day-to-day operations of the company.

Following this change, Steve Schuckenbrock, who has served as co-COO since 2005 and executive vice president of Global Sales and Client Solutions since 2004, will be leaving the company.

"As EDS accelerates its drive for sustainable, profitable growth, it is imperative that we are as tightly integrated as possible across our operations," said Jordan. "This organizational change will better enable us to capitalize on the investments we've made in our competitiveness and efficiency while continuing to drive superior client service."

Jordan praised Schuckenbrock's contributions to EDS since he joined the company in 2004. "Steve has played an integral role in improving EDS' competitiveness and driving the company's signings growth," Jordan said. "We wish him the best going forward."
