Established by Irish payments veteran John Ryan, the new educational service aims to fill the knowledge gap in the sector and to help people launch a career in payments and to offer practical training for disadvantaged, and those who operate and manage payments systems and want better outcomes.

“We are extremely excited to have launched PayEd as the payments sector continues to grow rapidly and become more sophisticated,” said John Ryan, who is also CEO. “Our primary focus is to roll out a comprehensive global payments education offering to meet the knowledge gap in this very agile market. This will be achieved with help from a dedicated and highly experienced team of advisors who will help to shape the curriculum on offer and who are focused on improving lives everywhere through payments education. #101 in Payments course is a great foundation course for anyone thinking about learning more.”

PayEd courses are delivered through live on-line delivery, ensuring accessible learning from anywhere in the world. Developed with input from leading global payment experts, the courses focus on the payments practice, and are also applicable to any business that is considering its payments strategy.

The firm is also working closely with academia to deliver a payments degree, which provides the learning necessary to understand the payments world around us. Upon completion of a course, attendees attain a QR coded digital certificate and can access fellow alumni to stay in touch with payment trends .

Other courses that have been launched are Cybersecurity in Payments and Regulations in Payments. SWIFT and Design Thinking will also be streamed shortly.

As part of the inclusion program PayEd has been working in Central Africa, and will also be delivering training to secondary schools in 2023.

PayEd has appointed an advisory board to help guide the company through the next stage of its rapid development. Georgia Hanias, Founder and CEO of the fintech advisory firm Ecology Media, Dr. Bradley Pragnell , Principal at boutique consultancy 34 South 45 North, Andrew King, Senior Consultant, Suite2Go, well known payments executive Stephen Benton, Luke Wilson, COO Australian Payments Network and Nancy Bryla, General Counsel and Company Secretary for Australian Payments Plus.

PayEd is also supporting the work of GPEC, the Global Payments Education Council, working on the future agenda of payments.
