Algorithmics announced today that the company's latest version of its industry leading suite of risk management solutions, Algo Suite 4.5.2, has been certified on Sun Microsystems' Solaris 10 Operating System (OS) on high-performance, industry-leading SPARC processor-based platforms.
This move is in response to the significant profile of Sun and the Solaris OS within the international financial services industry and part of Algorithmics' ongoing commitment to offer the Solaris OS platform support as an important option for its clients.
"Our clients operate in the most regulated, competitive and risk-sensitive environment in the history of the financial services industry," said Dr. Michael Zerbs, Algorithmics' President and Chief Operating Officer. "Bringing our clients the strategic advantages of best-practice enterprise risk management means ensuring our solutions are engineered for optimal performance on leading operating systems. Support on this respected platform is in direct response to client's requirements as the Solaris OS has long been a trusted standard for many of the global banks, broker-dealers, asset management firms, hedge funds, exchanges and central banks than comprise our client base."
"There are now more than four million registered Solaris 10 licenses worldwide from leading firms in all industries, including seven of the top eight financial services companies," said Donna Rubin, senior director, financial services, Sun Microsystems. "Our industry-wide adoption of the Solaris 10 OS takes another big leap forward with Algorithmics' commitment to making Algo Suite available to its customers on the Solaris 10 OS on SPARC processor-based Sun Fire servers."
