FinTech SaaS provider Toqio has today announced the appointment of Dafna Martin Beltran as Head of Sales for New Markets.

Dafna is the latest in a string of new hires for the growing business and will play a key role in expanding Toqio across Europe.

Toqio makes it easier for any business to quickly launch financial solutions, removing the need to build and manage complex software solutions through its platform and marketplace. The business is already supporting customers such as financial institutions, FinTech startups, banks, and corporate brands. Customers include Crealsa, Wamo and Just Cash Flow, and are based across Europe.

In July 2021, Toqio raised €8m from European investors including Seaya Ventures, Speedinvest and SIX FinTech Ventures. The seed round is being used to expand Toqio across Europe and into the US market. As the newly appointed Head of Sales for New Markets, Dafna will be responsible for expansion in the UK and EU, with a focus on Germany, France and Spain. Dafna will be based in Toqio’s Madrid office.

Dafna Martin Beltran, Head of Sales for New Markets, commented on her appointment, “Toqio enables any business, not just banks, to create game-changing, data-driven, finance propositions that can be rapidly deployed to their customers where and when they need it. The team is exceptional and I am delighted to join them as we scale across the European market. “

Martin Beltran continued, “Today, payments and finance are at a point of inflexion. Brands that know their customers well will be able to provide financial services, boosting their growth by deploying add-ons like payments, lending and bank accounts to their customers providing a complete service. This is a huge opportunity for Toqio’s SaaS solution.”

Prior to joining Toqio, Dafna was a Senior Business Development Manager in the Payment Online Travel Industry, working for Amadeus. She was responsible for delivering best-in-class virtual card solutions for online customers. Amadeus was recognised in the Emerging Payments Awards 2021 as the Best B2B Wallet Payment Programme. Dafna played a critical role in launching the solution, which creates a frictionless payment experience for the Travel Industry to help multi-POS customers deal with global card brands and alternative payment methods, including e-wallets, cash on delivery, online banking and direct debit.

Prior to joining Amadeus, Dafna was part of American Express as a Senior Business Project Manager overseeing Travel Payments. She has a Masters in Marketing & Sales Management from the ESIC Business and Marketing School. Dafna is multi-lingual, speaking Spanish, English, German and French.

Michael Galvin, CCO and Co-Founder of Toqio, commented, “Dafna is an extremely driven individual, constantly looking to learn and innovate. We have no doubt that she will be a force in pushing Toqio forward as we expand our client base in 2022. We are fortunate to welcome her to the team and to learn from her past experiences working at B2B payment provider Amadeus.”

Toqio recently announced that former AB InBev CFO and Head of Partnerships of the Non-Alcoholic Beverages Division, Alessandro Palma, has joined the business as CFO.

The appointment followed a new partnership with HealRWorld, Railsbank, and Mastercard’s Priceless Planet coalition, to power an SDG corporate debit card. The HealRWorld debit card is using Toqio's white-labelled digital finance SaaS platform for its infrastructure.
