Danish 'tap-to-phone' startup Vibrant expands across Europe

Source: Vibrant

The Danish fintech startup Vibrant has joined forces with Visa and MasterCard to support local European merchants and SMEs through the digital payment solutions Tap to Phone.

There are 6 billion contactless cards, but only half of all businesses in Europe accept credit cards. Therefore, the Danish startup Vibrant are on a mission: The fintech company has developed a unique technology that enables merchants to accept contactless card payments straight through their phones, only using an app.

Vibrant developed the digital payment solutions for Danish merchants and businesses during COVID-19 and have already expanded to Greece, Cyprus, and Barcelona - and they will be available in even more European countries in the coming months.

Transaction terminals are long overdue for small and micro-merchants
Vibrant’s new digital payment solution is attractive to small and local merchants in Europe because it comes with no setup costs, no hidden fees, no contract commitment, consistently low and transparent costs, and guaranteed secure payments and fast settlements. As such, local merchants and small business owners can access a payment solution that is easier and cheaper than the old-fashioned transaction terminal.

With a mobile phone as a pocket terminal, merchants will have access to all the financial services they need, including payments, insights, and integrations, which will make their days easier, and the tracking of finances feel like a walk in the park.

“We want to make life easier for our local everyday heroes like merchants and small business owners. Our vision is to change the way merchants handle their customer relations completely and do what we can to support thriving and prosperous local communities around the world”, says Kasper Enggaard Krog, CEO at Vibrant.

Joining forces with Visa and MasterCard
The Tap to Phone solution supports small businesses because they play a vital role in helping communities worldwide with domestic growth and recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Vibrant has entered a partnership with MasterCard and Visa - with the ambition to support and enhance the lives of local merchants and SMEs in Europe. Visa has recently announced a global commitment to elevating 50 million small and micro businesses (SMBs) worldwide to get local communities back to trade after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are also really excited about joining forces with the world’s leaders in digital payments and together with them make payments much more accessible, more transparent and flexible for merchants across Europe,” says Kasper Enggaard Krog.

By collaborating with world-leading tech companies, Vibrant is eager to show local merchants that the new payment solution through the Vibrant app is trustworthy, secure, and of great benefits for individual businesses. Tap to Phone enables businesses to accept contactless payments on any Android device with no need for additional hardware.
