ScienceMuseum Group connects with GoodBox for contactless donations

GoodBox, the fintech revolutionising how we give, has partnered with the Science Museum Group to offer their award-winning contactless devices to help increase donations and offer a simple and Covid-friendly way for the public to support the 5 museums across the UK.

The pandemic forced the Group to close its doors for much of the past year, which has had an impact on visitor numbers, café and shop revenue, as well as donations from the public. As the country emerges from the pandemic, the Group is keen to raise awareness of the importance of donations from visitors, which support the important work of the museums. Contactless devices make it quick and easy for visitors to donate a set amount and have already proven to be successful in increasing donations at other museums including the Natural History Museum.

GoodBox supports the charity sector by providing charities with a range of digital fundraising tools and award-winning contactless technology. Its innovative tools help charity partners to reach new donors, raise more funds and tell their stories more vividly.

GoodBox Co-Founder & Managing Director Francesca Hodgson says, “The team at GoodBox are so pleased we could help the Science Museum Group with our contactless technology. It has been a tough time for museums to raise donations especially as they have had to remain closed for most of the last year, but I am sure the generosity of visitors will help them to raise much needed funds.”

Science Museum Group representative Brodie Lyon added, “We are delighted we could partner with GoodBox to use their contactless devices throughout our museums. These devices are already helping us to raise vital donations from our visitors and we hope this will continue as Covid restrictions ease further and the trend towards cashless continues.”
