IHS Markit names Simon Chard MD, platforms, regulatory and compliance

IHS Markit (NYSE: INFO), a world leader in critical information, analytics and expertise, has recruited Simon Chard as Managing Director in Platforms, Regulatory and Compliance.

He will lead the Global Business Development of KY3P®. Chard is based in London and will report to Richard Blore, Chief Executive Officer, KY3P, IHS Markit.

Chard will be responsible for delivering the KY3P vision and strategy across a range of industry sectors, building on the established momentum in Financial Services. He will be supporting clients in adopting this leading industry standard and using it to bring enhanced quality, efficiency and effectiveness to IHS Markit’s third party risk programs. He will also be responsible for supporting clients in meeting their risk management and regulatory requirements across a wide range of domains including cyber, data protection and ESG.

Prior to joining IHS Markit in May 2021, Chard was a Partner at PwC where he led the global Enterprise Resilience proposition and held senior leadership roles in the Technology, Data & Analytics and Banking & Capital Markets groups. Chard is an experienced and trusted Board level advisor to a wide range of globally significant financial institutions and has advised on technology strategy, resilience, risk, control and assurance models. He has provided evidence to the UK Treasury Select Committee, been appointed on multiple occasions as a Skilled Person to conduct UK financial services regulatory reviews and advised the Prudential Regulation Authority.

Prior to joining PwC, he established and led the third-party risk practice at Deloitte where he worked with clients across a range of industries including government, life sciences, technology and media and oil and gas.
