Northern Trust is expanding further into Europe with the official opening of its new office in Amsterdam.
The office will represent Northern Trust's asset servicing and asset management businesses primarily, with the office being staffed initially by client relationship management and business development personnel.
Frederick H. Waddell, President and Chief Operating Officer of Northern Trust, said, "The Netherlands continues to be a key market for Northern Trust and one in which we have been active as a corporation for many years. Opening an office in Amsterdam is in line with our client service approach of aiming to serve our clients as close to their home markets as possible, as well as part of our long term business growth strategy in Europe. It is also beneficial to the ongoing success of our new business development activities as we now have asset management and asset servicing sales expertise on the ground in the region."
Paul Cutts has been named Managing Director of the new office. He will re- locate from London where, most recently, he has been managing the asset servicing group's relationship management team for Dutch clients. Mr. Cutts, who has over 20 years' experience in the asset servicing sector, joined Northern Trust in 1992. During this period, he has been responsible for a broad range of client service groups for clients across the UK, Continental Europe and Middle East regions.
In addition to Mr. Cutts, the new office will be staffed initially by Wim Van Ooijen, Frans Hofkens, Heico De Boer and Eric Pouwels. Mr. Van Ooijen and Mr. Hofkens continue in their asset servicing client relationship management roles, supported by a team of dedicated Dutch client account managers in London, namely Christophe De Brabanter, Dennis Presburg, Bram van den Reijen and Ann Du Bois. Mr. De Boer, institutional asset management sales and Mr. Pouwels, asset servicing sales, will continue to drive Northern Trust's business development activities in the Dutch market, working together on joint opportunities as appropriate.
"We have been steadily adding to our Dutch team to ensure we continue to deliver high levels of service to our increasing Dutch client base and to ensure that we have the resource to capitalise on new business opportunities," added Stephen Potter, Group Head of Northern Trust's international business segment. "We are delighted to have such an experienced and established Dutch team which we believe puts us in a strong position to maximise opportunities for innovation and business growth in the Netherlands."
The Amsterdam office is located at World Trade Centre, H-Toren, Zuidplein 36, 1077 XV Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
