Today, Tandem Bank announces that Paul Noble has been appointed as the group’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Paul will be a key driver of the challenger bank’s enhanced mission to become the UK’s first fully green digital bank.

Paul has over 20 years of experience in banking incumbents such as Barclays, venture capital and was a founding member of 118 118 Money.

He will work with the Tandem team to develop new products and services, including an initial offering of green mortgages and green savings accounts, whilst continuing to grow the green home lending portfolio that Tandem recently acquired from Allium.

As Tandem Bank continues to grow and adapt to the needs of its customer base, it will continue to hire talent from both legacy banks and industry disruptors to ensure it can deliver innovation sustainably. Paul’s commercial experience will be invaluable in this regard and see him leading the team to financial sustainability, with Tandem expecting to achieve profitability in 2021, as well as environmental sustainability.

Paul says, “People care, probably more than ever, about the future of our planet and are taking direct action to tackle the current climate crisis in ever increasing numbers. This includes self evaluating lifestyles and making money choices that actively work towards the realisation of a green agenda.”

Emerging government policy is progressively supportive of such a green agenda, not least because of its carbon net-zero commitment, and is increasingly talking to the potential for a green economic recovery on the back of the Covid-19 pandemic that has changed our world so fundamentally in 2020.

Paul adds, “With all this in mind I’m looking forward to the future with Tandem and working together to build a fully green digital bank that will help many more people help the planet. ”
