BT announced today that Koscom Corporation, the distributor of the Korea Exchange's (KRX's) market data, has signed an agreement with BT South Korea to disseminate KRX's market data.

BT will utilize BT Radianz's shared market infrastructure to support the distribution of the Exchange's real-time data, which will be available to more than 10,000 financial services sites worldwide.

Through the agreement, Koscom will make the KRX market data available on a shared network for the first time, which will vastly simplify access to this data for the global financial community. Koscom will also leverage BT Radianz's expertise in identifying information distribution opportunities and increasing the ease with which institutions can access the information.

Shin, Heon Chan, Deputy CEO of Koscom Corporation, said: "Through BT's global financial services vertical, it will be easier for customers to receive real-time Korea market information in a cost-effective manner. This will ultimately result in effortless investment activities within the Korea finance market and an increase of point-to-point international investors. Previously, the costs and complexity faced by international counter parties to reach Korea and establish connectivity had been considerable. This agreement gives Koscom the opportunity to market its content globally through the industry’s leading shared market infrastructure and enables BT and BT Radianz to expand towards new market opportunities."

Yee Chung, Director, Head of International Sales and Trading Team, Samsung Futures Inc. said: "Korea is the leading options market in the world by volume, and our worldwide customers are increasingly attracted to the Korean market. With this agreement between Koscom and BT, buy- and sell-side firms throughout Asia, Europe, and North America will now have direct access to KRX market data for the first time."

Scott Cooper, Head of Asian Business Development, BT Radianz, said: "The addition of Koscom, the market leader of information services in the Korean securities market, to our growing list of market data providers is a major milestone. The Korean securities market represents one of the fastest growing markets in the world. This landmark achievement marks the first time that global firms could obtain low latency access to market data from the Korean securities market using a managed network service, clearly exhibiting our desire to meet our customers’ demand across the globe for low latency and direct access to leading market data sources. BT South Korea's relationship with Koscom represents one of the cornerstones of the BT Group’s overall electronic trading initiatives in Asia as we continue to create robust electronic connectivity throughout that region."
