CounterpartyLink expands sales team

CounterpartyLink, supplier of legal entity data to help financial institutions meet regulatory compliance requirements, today announced the appointment of four new sales staff to spearhead the company's growth in Europe and the U.S.

Martin Cole is appointed as Global Head of Sales & Marketing, and he continues to lead the product management function, which he previously held on a consultancy basis. Prior to joining CounterpartyLink, Mr. Cole was Managing Director of Dun & Bradstreet's UK operation. Before joining D&B, he held an extensive career at Reuters in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Managing Director of Reuters Consulting. Mr. Cole reports to Christoph Lammersdorf, CEO of CounterpartyLink.

Nigel Bell joins as Business Development Manager, based in London. Mr. Bell has worked in the market data industry for nearly twenty years, including nine years as an Account Manager at Reuters and similar roles at Bridge/Telerate, Thomson Financial and Dow Jones Newswires. Most recently he was Business Development Manager at Gissing Software.

Steffan Davies also joins as London-based Business Development Manager. He was previously with Complinet, where he was responsible for developing new business and managing existing client relationships. Mr. Davies also spent time at FT Business, working as a member of the sales team within the institutional finance department.

In New York, Aaron Cohen joins the company as Business Development Manager. Previously, Aaron was with Complinet, where he covered both large accounts and new business, selling regulatory information products. Prior to Complinet, he was an Advertising Manager for a national U.S. publication.

The rapid expansion of CounterpartyLink, which was formed in February 2005, reflects the growing requirement in the financial markets for the type of accurate and auditable information collected and maintained by CounterpartyLink. With operations in 5 international centres, from the Far East to Europe and the Americas, CounterpartyLink uses rigorous processes and procedures to collect information on legally registered organisations.

The company maintains ownership and hierarchy data, as well as the related linkages needed to integrate with other information sources. Corporate actions and other events that affect the data are also continuously monitored and applied.

The data provided by CounterpartyLink is available through a subscription-based licence, driven by user-defined interest lists. The data is delivered to customers on a daily basis, in a choice of file formats including XML and CSV (comma-delimited) files.
