The Great British Entrepreneur Awards is delighted to announce a three year partnership with Starling Bank, the UK’s Best British Bank 2019, as they continue to champion and celebrate entrepreneurs and their journeys.

Entering its eighth year and now attracting over 3,000 applications with events in eight cities, the Awards programme has celebrated some incredible entrepreneurs since launch, many of whom have gone on to become household names, including the founders of BrewDog, Grenade, Tangle Teezer, Cambridge Satchel Company and more.

Starling is a leading digital bank, founded in 2014 by Anne Boden MBE, twice voted Best British Bank and Best Business Banking Provider 2019. Its banking app offers business, personal, euro and joint current accounts on Android and iOS. Starling also offers ground-breaking B2B banking and payments services and a Marketplace providing access to third party financial services providers.
The Great British Entrepreneur Awards is judged by some of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs, including the founders of GoCompare, Specsavers, Poundland, notonthehighstreet.com and PureGym.

Central to the ethos of the Awards is being more than just ‘an awards ceremony’ - running regular events, publishing a community magazine and regularly connecting alumni with mentors, investors and media as part of its mission to support, connect and encourage entrepreneurial minds in Great Britain.
Francesca James, founder of the Awards, said: “We’re thrilled about this partnership. We were early adopters of Starling’s business account long before we’d even entered into discussions with them. We’re huge fans of the mobile app banking experience they afford us as a small business.

“It's particularly exciting for us to have a headline sponsor with a real entrepreneurial success story behind it. Anne Boden is someone who saw so many problems with traditional banking and decided to do something about it, disrupting an entire industry in the process.”

Anne Boden, Founder and CEO, Starling Bank said: “Small and medium-sized businesses are the lifeblood of the UK economy and the entrepreneurs behind them play a vital role in supporting the country’s economic health and long-term prosperity. Starling is proud to sponsor these awards, which are helping to unlock more of the entrepreneurial spirit that has long defined this country.”
Will King, founder of King of Shaves and GBEA 2020 judge said: “The Great British Entrepreneur Awards matches my ambition to not only celebrate entrepreneurs and their achievements but to support them in their endeavours. It’s an honour to have been a member of the judging panel over the past few years and I look forward to seeing what 2020 brings.”
