DnB NOR and EDB Business Partner have signed a framework agreement for EDB's involvement in the bank's project to integrate its IT systems. The agreement applies to collaboration and deliveries in respect of DnB NOR's systems integration project, which is due to be completed by 1 January 2007.
This agreement, together with the framework agreement signed on 22 March this year, represents a further step in the long-term collaboration between DnB NOR and EDB that will contribute to reducing the bank's IT costs.
"EDB will be an important partner and a major supplier of solutions and integration services for the bank's project to integrate its IT systems - the ITIP project. Given its expertise as a systems integrator for solutions in this area, EDB was an obvious choice to help us with this major project," explains Bente A. Landsnes, Group Executive Vice President, IT and Payment Services at DnB NOR.
"This agreement with DnB NOR for our involvement in the bank's ITIP project further extends our collaboration, and this project will be a high priority assignment for EDB with considerable management focus. We will contribute to ensuring a secure and effective integration of DnB NOR's IT systems that will also pave the way for this new financial group to realise synergy gains. This agreement confirms that EDB Bank & Finance is a long-term player with the resources and expertise needed to support our customers in developing and restructuring their IT systems," comments Ole Urdahl, Executive Vice President in EDB.
The framework agreement the parties have entered into provides for EDB Bank & Finance to assist DnB NOR with conversion processes and integration of the various IT systems and applications used by Gjensidige NOR and DnB onto a single platform for the new financial group.
EDB has established an in-house project to support DnB NOR's ITIP project. Activities are already under way to establish the necessary test environments and to make short-term changes to the various applications currently used by DnB NOR to ensure efficient exchange of transaction information and communication across the current system environments. The applications that EDB Bank & Finance currently supplies to DnB NOR in the areas of payment services, internet banking, security, customer information and archiving will be adapted for the bank's system platform.
