Investec Asset Management names Robert Hau director, European business development

Investec Asset Management (Investec) has appointed Robert Hau to the new role of Director of Business Development Europe to increase institutional and mutual fund business in Europe.

With 17 years of experience in asset management and the banking industry, Robert joins Investec from Bank of Ireland Asset Management where he was head of Continental Europe, managing the Frankfurt office and responsible for raising assets in different European countries specifically in the Global and European Equity and Bond sectors.

Robert will be responsible for selling Investec Asset Management products and services into Germany, Austria and other parts of Europe. Robert will be particularly targeting Investec's pooled products at portfolio managers, Fund of Fund managers, Multi-Managers, Family offices, Life Assurance companies and both retail and private banks. Robert will also develop Investec’s business with local pension fund consultants and directly with the European pension funds.

Prior to working at Bank of Ireland Asset Management Robert worked for Fidelity Investments in Germany where he promoted the group’s pooled products through the banking networks.

Robert holds a degree in Business Economics from the Fachhochschule Fulda. He is a trained banker and a member of the association of Certified Financial Planners (FPSB Financial Planning Standard Board Deutschland e.V.)
