Alan Whiting has joined the Board of LIFFE, as a non-executive director, with specific responsibility for regulatory matters.
Mr Whiting was Director of Financial Regulation at HM Treasury from 1992-1997. He was an Executive Director of the London Metal Exchange from 1997 to 2004, with responsibility for regulation and compliance, and is a non-executive Director of the Banking Code Standards Board, the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission and Nymex Europe Ltd. His appointment to the LIFFE Board takes place with immediate effect.
LIFFE's Chairman, Andre Villeneuve, said: "Alan has extensive experience of financial services regulation and we are delighted he has accepted our invitation to join the LIFFE Board. I am looking forward to working with him."
