BT Radianz launches Proximity solution in Europe

BT Radianz, a leading global provider of financial connectivity services, today announced that it has expanded Radianz Proximity Solution into Europe to provide low latency access for market data or trade execution.

Firms will now have hosted access to venues that include the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Böerse and Euronext.

Radianz Proximity Solution provides flexible, scalable, low latency connectivity to major market data and execution centers. Ultimately, this solution enables firms to achieve direct market access (DMA) to worldwide liquidity pools. TowerGroup estimates, in its report entitled "Direct Market Access Matures, Securing a Permanent Place in Institutional Trading," that by 2006 DMA, will represent 38% of shares traded in the United States, with Europe following twelve to fifteen months behind. BT Radianz is committed to helping companies overcome the barriers to direct market access by providing access to liquidity pools and keeping human intervention to a minimum.

Radianz Proximity Solution benefits hedge funds, prime brokers, quantitative trading firms, and arbitrage departments seeking the lowest possible latency to multiple trading venues. The service is geared toward companies involved in latency sensitive algorithmic trading that do not have a regional presence near the execution venue. Having launched Radianz Proximity Solution in New York and Chicago last year, BT Radianz is looking to further expand the offering to incorporate additional BT Radianz hosting facilities in Asia later this year.

David Stopforth, Head of European Sales, BT Radianz, said: "The expansion of Radianz Proximity Solution into Europe meets the demands of clients looking to advance their direct market access strategy, particularly involving algorithmic and latency-sensitive trades. The physical limitations of networks put advanced trading strategies located outside of the area where the exchange resides at a disadvantage. We believe that true DMA will be achieved in Europe only when brokers have the ability to extend connectivity to key execution venues. The Radianz Proximity Solution service is a critical enabler to the already changing trend to the way markets are trading."
