Velocimetrics hire Benini and O'Brien for US push
Fintech Velocimetrics, a leading provider of business flow tracking and performance analytics, has today announced the hire of two key players in New York, as the company makes a bid to capitalize on its foot print in the US and add more US and Canadian clients to its stable of investment banks, international hedge funds and exchanges.

John Benini brings a wealth of technical experience to the team. At Velocimetrics, he will be responsible for solution implementation and client support for US customers. John, who is a server and network infrastructure specialist with over ten years’ experience, joins from Majestyk Apps where he held the position of CTO. He started his career as a trading systems integrator at Morgan Stanley. John comments: “Having worked in the low-latency/high-volume arena, I've seen many players come and go and Velocimetrics is succeeding in a very influential way. The team has created something incredible that’s right at the forefront of trading technology and its solutions can really help firms to gain insight in to pain points, improve efficiencies and boost margins. It's a welcome change in the post-MiFID II world."
Steve O'Brien has joined the company as VP of Sales for North America. Steve brings with him over 25 years' experience working in financial technology with Tier 1 banks and capital markets firms. Steve says about his appointment: "This is the first time Velocimetrics has appointed a VP of Sales in the region, demonstrating their commitment to the market. There is a big requirement in North America for the solutions Velocimetrics provides to help institutions manage risk, grow revenue and reduce cost. It's a great solution, with an excellent business case and I'm really looking forward to taking it to the market."
