Today, Barchart, a leading provider of financial market data and technology, announced that Chris Harrison has been named Chief Technology Officer.

Harrison will be responsible for the enterprise wide technology offering, including data feeds, digital solutions, APIs and software, including Barchart’s newest cmdtyView platform as well as growing the product and engineering teams. Harrison replaces Eero Pikat as CTO, who will continue as President of Barchart, overseeing technology architecture and new technologies/R&D.

“What made the Barchart CTO role so appealing was their innovative product lines, a super dynamic culture and the transformational way in which they attack a highly commoditized marketplace,” says Harrison. “As a former outsider, I've enjoyed watching Barchart blossom from a small start-up into a serious player in the institutional space, and I look forward to leading their technology efforts going forward,” added Harrison.

"With his track record in the FinTech and market data industries, and his proven ability to build successful products at leading companies, Chris is the perfect choice for us to bring on as Barchart’s new CTO,” says Eero Pikat, President and former CTO of Barchart. “We are excited to welcome Chris to our team and look forward to his contributions in helping Barchart’s product line and real-time platforms grow and excel,” added Pikat.

Harrison is an industry veteran of the FinTech space and has served as a Chief Product Officer and SVP of Engineering for various companies including GlobalView, Drillinginfo and FutureSource. He and his teams have won numerous industry awards including Data House of the Year, #1 Ease of Use System, #1 Preferred System and #1 Ease of Integration with Other Systems.
