Coinbase hires LinkedIn veteran to oversee acquisitions and partnerships

Today I am thrilled to announce that Emilie Choi is joining Coinbase as Vice President of Corporate and Business Development.

Emilie joins us after working for more than eight years at LinkedIn, where she served as LinkedIn’s Vice President of Corporate Development. Coinbase is moving fast into a new phase of the company’s journey. Emilie’s deep experience leading world-class corporate development teams will help move Coinbase into new markets and opportunities globally by leveraging acquisitions, strategic investments and partnerships.

Emilie’s more than 17 years of professional experience includes the following:

Overseeing more than 40 transactions at LinkedIn, including the acquisitions of Lynda, Bright, Newsle, Connectifier, Slideshare and Fliptop, as well as LinkedIn’s JV in China and strategic investments in Cornerstone On Demand and G2 Crowd
Working in Corporate Development as well as Digital Business Strategy and Operations at Warner Bros., where she developed long-term strategies for the WBTVG digital businesses, including TMZ, Kids WB, Essence and The WB
Working in Corporate Development at Yahoo!, where she advised the senior management team and executed numerous transactions, including Flickr and Yahoo’s original investment in Alibaba

In addition to her deep experience building and scaling at high-growth companies, Emilie’s reputation as an advocate for founders through every step of the M&A process makes her the perfect fit for Coinbase. In her new role, Emilie will be focused on scaling Coinbase globally, seeking out world-class acquisition and partnership opportunities, and managing our strategic projects. She will oversee Corporate Development, Business Development and Business Operations for the company.
