Tikkie is an app provided by ABN AMRO to make transferring money really simple. The app can be used to send payment requests by SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Telegram. This free app is now being used by more than 1.3 million people in the Netherlands, making it the country’s favourite payment app by some margin.

ABN AMRO and Ajax are both strong believers in technology and innovation. In the case of Ajax, of course, this is focused on football, while for ABN AMRO the focus is on making payments fast and easy. In addition, ABN AMRO has for many years been a shirt sponsor for talented young players at De Toekomst, Ajax’s training complex, as well as being a social partner for the Amsterdam club

The payment app can be used as early as next Sunday for the match between Ajax and Roda JC. The match is being played under the auspices of the Ajax Foundation, and supporters will be able to use the app to submit requests to make a donation of EUR 5. The idea is that they will forward their payment requests to other Ajax supporters. All the money raised will be used for community projects supported and organised by the Ajax Foundation. The Ajax Merchandise department will also shortly begin collaborating with Tikkie.
