Jürg Weber, Division CEO Payment Services, has decided to leave SIX. Marc Schluep, currently Head Organizational Development at SIX Payment Services, will be taking over his duties.
Jürg Weber has decided to leave SIX at the end of November 2017. Under his leadership, the business area Payment Services has focused on widening the e-commerce and omni-channel offering, providing merchants with a payment solution that simultaneously covers the traditional, online and mobile sales channels. He has also expanded and greatly strengthened the Payment Services business through the acquisitions of Aduno SA and the German network operator VÖBZVD. Additionally, Jürg Weber was one of the driving forces behind the relaunch of TWINT as a joint venture of the Swiss financial center in the field of mobile payments. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of TWINT AG, he was responsible for successfully bringing it to the market.
He considerably developed the business area Payment Services, as reflected in particular in impressive financial results and in significantly higher client satisfaction. Jürg Weber has also championed and driven forward the ongoing realignment of SIX, notably including the creation of a strategic partnership for the business area Payment Services. Now that the realignment process has been successfully completed, he wishes to focus on his entrepreneurial activities.
The Board of Directors of SIX regrets his decision and thanks Jürg Weber for his valuable contribution to the continued development of the business area Payment Services in a challenging market environment and wishes him every continued success, both personally and professionally.
Marc Schluep, who is currently Head Organizational Development and deputy to Jürg Weber, will take over his duties as Division CEO Payment Services. Before joining Payment Services in 2014, Marc Schluep was Head Corporate Development, with responsibility for strategic development at SIX. As such, he is exceedingly well acquainted with the company.
