ERI is delighted to announce that the Banque Burundaise pour le Commerce et l’Investissement (BBCI), headquartered in Bujumbura, has chosen the OLYMPIC Banking System as its new IT platform for all its operations.

The BBCI is one of Burundi’s largest banks, serving private and corporate clients. To support its growth strategy, the bank issued an RFP in December 2016 in order to replace its existing core banking system with a modern, flexible and scalable solution. After a rigorous evaluation process, the OLYMPIC Banking System was selected based on its broad functional coverage and technological strengths.

Anatole Manirakiza, Director and CEO of the BBCI, stated: "We are extremely ambitious when it comes to choosing what banking services we offer our clients and we wanted to be sure to have the right solution. We carefully evaluated the packages available and concluded that the OLYMPIC Banking System was the perfect match for our current and future requirements."

Jean-Philippe Bersier, Business Development Director at ERI, also went on record stating: "We are delighted BBCI chose our software package. This is our 5th win in sub-Saharan Africa and we are convinced that our international expertise, combined with the OLYMPIC Banking System’s extensive functionality, will empower BBCI to offer a wide range of services across its network and digital platforms."
