Stripe lands in six new European countries

Source: Stripe

Today we’re excited to launch in six more European countries, making all of our products fully available to businesses in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

While it would certainly be easy to launch the same product in every market, we have taken the time to work closely with local developers in each of these countries to better understand how consumers want to pay, and how local nuances drive complexities in their businesses. German startups like Jimdo, BOOK A TIGER, or Croove, as well as Dutch technology companies like WeTransfer and Catawiki are just a few Stripe users in the region, and we’d like to thank them for their feedback and their suggestions during the preview phase.

Every developer in these countries can start accepting payments with Stripe in minutes. You can also create subscriptions, dynamically query your revenue information using Sigma, and rely on advanced machine learning algorithms to detect fraud with Radar. And if you’re building a platform or a marketplace, you can now also use Stripe Connect, which handles user onboarding, compliance, pay-in and pay-out networks, reporting, and more. Connect supports virtually any platform business model, including on-demand businesses, e‑commerce, crowdfunding, and travel and events. We just added some new features to make it even faster to use and more flexible.

Pricing is simple: 1.4 % + €0.25 for European cards and 2.9 % + €0.25 for non-European cards. We also support popular payment methods like Apple Pay, Android Pay, SEPA Direct Debit, SOFORT, iDEAL, Bancontact, and Giropay—see our pricing page for the respective pricing. These can easily be implemented with Sources, Stripe’s unified API for accepting any payment method with a single integration. We’ve also put together a guide to help you discover, understand and select the right payment methods for your business.

We’ve also assembled a (growing!) team to provide dedicated support for users in German and French as well. If you have questions or feedback, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We’re excited to see what new services and products you’ll build using Stripe in Europe!
