Tieto’s MasterCard certified Cloud Based Payments solution allows for banks to build payments products and services, enabling services to those customers who are open to making their everyday payments with mobile devices seamlessly and on-the-go.
As of today, Tieto is an official MasterCard vendor that have successfully certified its Host Card Emulation (HCE) technology based product according to MasterCard Cloud Based Payments specifications. Being listed means that Tieto has officially certified products in the area of mobile payments.

Mobile payments are an important vehicle towards payment digitalization. When we at Tieto began to develop our HCE-based solution over a year ago, one of our goals was to be certified by MasterCard. This milestone proves that we have successfully delivered a quality product and that an investment in Tieto’s products is an investment in certified and reliable mobile payments solutions, says Maris Ozolins, Head of Retail Payments and Cards at Tieto.

HCE technology allows for banks to moving from a physical card to digital payments. HCE emulates the EMV chip on a physical card in a virtual space – the cloud. The technology can be controlled or hosted by a bank, or a processor servicing the bank. This way, there is no need for involving a third party provider and banks can instead have a direct relationship with their end-customers.
