With new payment solutions such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and PayPal, the technology was developed by leading mobile ticketing solutions provider, Corethree and allows passengers to select from a wide range of ticket options including Day, Weekly, 4-Weekly and Annual Saver tickets and pay through the application, eradicating the need for cash and loose change.

The app also includes a ‘gifting’ feature, which enables users to purchase and send m-tickets directly to another device, along with the ability to chat live with a customer support team and receive travel updates in real time.

Ashley Murdoch, CEO Corethree says, ‘We couldn’t be more pleased to be working with Arriva; we’re very excited to be providing its customers with an end-to-end payment solution that will save time and heighten the user’s experience when travelling by bus.’

‘We specialise in providing the tools to arm a transport operator with insightful data regarding its passengers, which ultimately helps the business to develop its services further and understand its customer base in a more perceptive way.’
‘Our strategy very much is to offer payment solutions that meet the needs of our customers. Mobile ticketing is fast-becoming one of the cornerstones of the way passengers travel and with Corethree’s leading experience in the industry, we are already seeing fantastic results with this new service.’ says Gillian Singh, Marketing and NPD Director for Arriva.

Together Corethree and Arriva have worked closely to devise an exciting features roadmap that will see the app become a truly powerful daily travel companion for Arriva’s customers over the coming months.

Arriva operates in the Northwest and Wales, Northeast and Yorkshire, Midlands and Southern counties, and the Arriva UK Bus app is available to download from the App Store or Google Play on any smartphone.
